couple of questions about G16

Sorry about speaking english, but don't speak any word of french.

Hi, I will be user of Yinlips g16 soon, and I would like to know a couple of things. Which firm is better? GB or ICS?

My idea is using ICS firm because of pad support.

I have heard that combo buttons issue is present in all firmwares, but then I saw ruffnutts video playing super metroid (love this game), and combo issue seemed solved. So, is there any firm that solve that or not?

Is there any custom rom apart from snakeman's one?

Don't worry about your french ! You can speak English here !

For me, ICS is better for the ergonomy but sincerely GB run very well too. If you want pad support, you must use ICS. The only one custom rom is the snakeman's one ! It's a good custom rom but it's based on GB...

For the combo issue, he is always present with ICS firmware. You can test the combo button for Snes (for example) with this Rom [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien]

This were great if you cook a custom Rom for G16 like the great one on S5110 !

You can talk to qbertaddict too because he is owner of G16 too !

I didn't test ICS, i am using snakeman's firmware which working very well.

Concerning combo issue, it seems working with some buttons. For example with psx emulator (fpse) if i map buttons like the original controler some combos don't work (for example in Resident Evil i can't shoot zombies), but if i invert some controls like X and Triangle it's works (strange ?) so combos seem working with some buttons but not all. There is also issues with SNES emulator with shoulders buttons (for example with F-Zero).

Glad to count you as a new G16 user, it's a great console.
Can we expect a custom firmware from you ?

I see, it seems that combo issue is pretty similar to my s5100. Don't know about custom rom, I don't hvae much free time lately, and I am developing for some Tablets and phones, so don't know yet.

J'ai les mêmes problèmes et j'avais cru un moment donné q'ils étaient dus à la version de Android mais c'est un problème hardware.

je trouve ça dommage que aucun anglais n'essais de parler français...

alors que nous (quebecois) et français (europe) ont considère l'apprentissage de l'anglais très important

je n'est rien contre Skelton (qui a beaucoup aider cette communauté ) un simple constat...

Has anyone tried a PS3 gampead in Yinlips g16? Maybe I can try to compile some module for it, but if it works out of the box, then not needed. So, anyone tried?

By the way, I have tried both firms, ICS and GB, and I stick with ICS, just for usb pad support.

Maybe a custom rom is not a bad idea after all (at least for ICS), although snakeman's GB rom is really good happy
